Nasir Idris, the Governor of Kebbi State, has officially submitted his governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling his intention to contest for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
The nomination form was presented on Monday in Abuja and received on behalf of the party by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu.
Argungu commended Governor Nasir Idris’s leadership, expressing confidence in his performance and electoral prospects.
He highlighted the administration’s achievements in infrastructure development and social welfare across Kebbi State, noting that the party is satisfied with his track record and optimistic about his chances in 2027.
In response, through his deputy, Abubakar Umar Tafida, Governor Idris thanked the party for its continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to building on the progress already made by his administration.
He also called on residents of Kebbi State to maintain their support, assuring them of sustained delivery of development projects if re-elected.
The event was attended by several prominent political figures and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, former governors, lawmakers, the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida, and the Acting Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Muhammad Bagudo.
Also present were members of the National Assembly, state commissioners, APC executives, and other key political stakeholders.
