2027: Pascal Oluchukwu says All Progressives Congress signposts are only visible projects under Francis Nwifuru in Ebonyi

Public affairs analyst Pascal Oluchukwu has pushed back against claims by Oguzor Nwali that Francis Nwifuru deserves re-election in 2027.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Oluchukwu argued that the governor has not delivered enough development in Ebonyi State to justify a second term.

Nwali had earlier pointed to projects executed by the Nwifuru administration as reasons the people of Ebonyi should support his re-election bid. However, Oluchukwu challenged him to provide a clear list of completed and impactful projects.

He criticized some of the projects cited by the government, claiming that the flyover and tunnel projects had become waterlogged during the rainy season.

Oluchukwu also alleged that several projects across the state, including civil servants’ housing, schools, and the ICT University in Oferekpe Agbaja, remain either incomplete or abandoned despite increased federal allocations to the state.

According to him, the only visible signs of government activity in the state are campaign signposts of the All Progressives Congress, insisting that the administration has not done enough to merit another term in office.

BACKSTORY…

The criticism comes amid growing political conversations in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with debates already emerging over the performance of Governor Francis Nwifuru and the possibility of his re-election bid.

The discussion was triggered after Oguzor Nwali publicly defended Nwifuru’s administration, citing ongoing projects and developments as reasons the governor deserves a second term.

However, critics and opposition voices have questioned the impact and completion of some of those projects, arguing that many remain unfinished or have not significantly improved the lives of residents.

The exchange reflects the early political battle over governance records in Ebonyi, as supporters and critics of the administration begin shaping narratives ahead of the next election cycle.
