OpenAI Wants to Reinvent Browsing with AI-Powered Features
Welcome back to Week in Review! This week, we’re exploring OpenAI’s latest AI agent, known as Operator. We’ll also assess TikTok’s recovery status, consider if it’s time to revisit Tumblr, and more! Let’s get started.

OpenAI has introduced a research preview of Operator, a versatile AI agent capable of independently carrying out various tasks such as booking travel, making restaurant reservations, and online shopping. When users initiate Operator, a small window will appear displaying a dedicated web browser that the agent utilizes to accomplish tasks, along with text detailing the agent’s actions.
This feature will initially be available to U.S. users subscribed to ChatGPT’s $200 per month Pro plan.
Elon Musk and Sam Altman are clashing on X regarding the Stargate initiative. This massive infrastructure project could attract around $500 billion from investors, including SoftBank and the Middle East AI fund MGX, to build data centers that will support OpenAI’s AI operations. However, Musk argues that Stargate lacks the financial resources it claims to have.
It’s worth noting that he is not an unbiased source, as he is currently involved in a lawsuit against OpenAI.
