The former governor of Zamfara State, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Goga, described President Tinubu as “an asset to the North and the nation,” pointing to the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, security, and national cohesion.

He said, “President Tinubu has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to addressing the challenges facing our region.

“Those attacking him with propaganda are only seeking relevance after failing to secure their political future,”

He emphasized that some members of the political elite are responsible for spreading false information to hide their past corrupt acts and exclusion from critical appointments in the current Federal Government.

The alleged security efforts of the Tinubu-led government, especially Operation Fansan Yamma, were commended by Matawalle. He said that the operation had destroyed 200 terrorist camps and neutralized over 65 infamous bandit leaders.

“These individuals had the opportunity to lead but left no meaningful legacy. Today, they parade themselves as defenders of the people, using falsehoods and crocodile tears to win sympathy,” Matawalle noted.

“Our security forces, backed by the President’s proactive strategies, have recorded remarkable successes.

“This Easter and Ramadan season were among the most peaceful in years for many northern communities,” he added.

The former governor further cited some ongoing federal infrastructure projects as proof of Tinubu’s dedication to the development of the North, including; the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway and the Zaria-Gusau-Talata Mafara-Sokoto expressway.

He called for Northerners to support the President in his quest for peace, progress, and a safe future rather than giving in to divisive rhetoric.

“We must be part of the solution, not the problem. The North stands to gain more through unity and support for a working leadership,” he stated.
