Twelve communities in Zamfara State are allegedly subject to a N60 million charge imposed by suspected armed bandits who claim that the communities have been working with the Nigerian military on recent operations in the region.
Security analyst Bakatsine announced this on Monday through his verified X handle.

The affected villages include; Koloma, Dan Hayin Zargado, Zargado, Dan Godabe, Sabuwar Tunga, Makini, Bubaka, Yelwa, Bahwada, Koda, Manya, and Kabusu, all of which are situated in the state’s Maru and Maradun local government areas, the post claims.
According to the expert, residents of the communities are currently afraid after the bandits threatened to launch new attacks on the communities if the demanded amount was not paid.
“Bandits have imposed a N60m levy on 12 Zamfara communities: Koloma, Dan Hayin Zargado, Zargado, Dan Godabe, Sabuwar Tunga, Makini, Bubaka, Yelwa, Bahwada, Koda, Manya & Kabusu for allegedly aiding military raids. Residents fear attacks if they don’t pay,” Bakatsine wrote.

As of the time of this report, neither the Zamafara state government nor security operatives have issued any official statement on this development.
