The Federal Government has made arrangements to start giving N75,000 to 180,000 recipients of the Renewed Hope Economic Shocks Respond Initiative in Niger State.
Suleiman Hussaini Kpange, the State Program Manager of the Niger State Cash Transfer Program, revealed this to reporters in Minna.

The project, according to Hussaini Kpange, is a component of the Federal Government’s attempts to mitigate the impact of economic shocks on households who are particularly vulnerable. This is done by giving beneficiaries direct financial assistance to help them deal with the financial difficulties brought on by the elimination of the fuel subsidy.
Sulaiman alluded to the fact that more than 50,000 recipients have already been issued debit cards this year in Niger State’s 25 local councils.
Kpange added, “The latest batch of debit card distribution will see over 19,000 cards distributed across the state.”
However, he acknowledged the Federal Government’s initiative and the Niger State Government’s support of the office’s logistical needs.
Beneficiaries will include people from the current National Social Register as well as those who previously applied through the RRR, he said, adding that a national identity card is necessary before a debit card can be issued to the beneficiaries.

Some beneficiaries, including Bahago Gideon Musa and Hadiza Bawa, expressed satisfaction with the process leading to the collection of their debit cards.
