Afrobeats star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has expressed regret over choosing a path of hard work despite coming from a privileged background.
David Adeleke shared that the demands of hard work take a toll on his mental well-being.
According to David Adeleke, his dedication stems from a genuine passion for his craft, not the pursuit of money.
The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner, who is the son of Nigerian billionaire businessman, Adedeji Adeleke, boasted that even if he decides to stop working now, he has billions of dollars already.
Davido spoke during an interview with music executive Bankulli after his sold-out show at the Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Canada, on Saturday night.
“I regret to myself for being hardworking. The stress and mental ability that goes into this type of work, especially with a lot of odds against me, is draining me. But I have to do it. It’s not for the money, I have billions of dollars waiting for me. Even if I don’t work again in my life, I have billions of dollars. But I’m working because I love my job and my fans,” he said.
