Sowore criticized Amaechi for claiming he could end corruption within one month if elected president, labeling him “a fool at 40” for making such a statement.
Amaechi made the claim during a discussion on X Space. In response, Sowore pointed out that despite holding several high-ranking positions—serving eight years as Speaker and another eight as Governor—Amaechi failed to address corruption during his time in office.
In a video shared by SaharaReporters, Sowore said: “Amaechi said he would end corruption in one month. This is someone who has been Speaker for eight years, governor for eight years—16 years in total—and did nothing.”
“He was Minister for eight years, making it 24 years. If you deduct 24 from 60 what do you say? A fool at 40 is a fool forever.
“They are all deceiving you, yes we have alternatives and we have provided that we will participate but we are not bound by one alternative because we don’t have time on our side.
“The clock is ticking and I keep telling the youths that we don’t have time – you might be youth today but not youth forever.
“There are some Nigerian youths that when I see them, I’m 54 and when I see them they say that they are 24 and I ask, are we the same age? Because the system has made them not look their age anymore.”
