Security operatives in Ogun State have apprehended some persons suspected to be Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) staff with a huge sums of money in their possession amid the state by-election.
They were taken into custody along with a politician who was suspected of plotting to purchase votes.
On Saturday, the suspects were taken into custody at a motel in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area.
The INEC officials, a male and a woman, were seen squatting while being questioned by security personnel in a widely shared video on Saturday.

They were also accompanied by some purported PDP officers.
According to the officer questioning them, information revealed that party leaders had previously contacted and provided a substantial amount of money to INEC staff in order to buy votes during the by-election.
Similarly, security operatives of the DSS and Nigeria Police Force had also apprehended another individual suspected to be plotting vote buying in Kaduna.
