Former Guinness World Record holder for marathon cooking, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to cook 250 bags of rice in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest pot of jollof rice.
In a viral video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, Hilda revealed the ambitious project and gave insight into its scale. She explained that the cooking would be done using a massive 22,619-litre pot.
Speaking about the cooking process, she said, “I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is 6 meters wide by 6 meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink.”
The event which is set for September 12, 2025, aims to feed 10,000 people.
This came two years after Hilda Baci cooked for 93 hours 11 minutes to break the record for longest cooking marathon by individual.
