Actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels has revealed that her mother, Rita Daniels, initially warned her against marrying Senator Ned Nwoko, but she chose not to listen because she was deeply in love.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Regina appealed to Nigerians to stop criticizing her mother amid her ongoing marital crisis.
In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Regina Daniels clarified that her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko was not driven by greed, adding that her family had initially cautioned her against the relationship.
She said, *“The main purpose of this video is to beg everyone to stop insulting my mom. I feel like I owe you all this explanation because I don’t understand why people are so affected by my life decisions—but I know it doesn’t come from a bad place.

Please, stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me—my god on earth. She has been strong for seven years, holding everything together despite the backlash. She really tried. I’m the one to blame; I’m the one with the coconut head. I’m ashamed to admit it, but I truly fell in love. Everyone told me not to—especially my mom—but I did.”*
“And you all stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me. No. We were not broke. Does that make sense? And secondly, what do you guys think? What money can a man give to a mother to get her child, who practically provides everything in the house? That is, practically, she trained all her children through this child,” she said.
Regina further revealed that the pressure surrounding her marriage once pushed her to contemplate suicide, adding that despite the turmoil, she is committed to fighting for her children.
