The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ramping up preparations for its 2025 National Elective Convention, set to take place on November 15 and 16 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday, the party described the convention, tagged #Ibadan2025, as a historic milestone in its pursuit of internal renewal and readiness for the 2027 general elections.
The statement noted that more than 3,000 delegates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory are expected to attend, alongside party leaders, stakeholders, and international observers, including members of the diplomatic corps.
It stated that the convention will feature the election of key national officers, including a new National Chairman, and reaffirm the PDP’s commitment to unity, discipline, and democratic principles.
According to the statement, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who is hosting the event, has led a series of venue inspections and logistical reviews to ensure a successful outing.

The party said the Lekan Salami Stadium was being transformed into “a hub for democratic renewal” ahead of the event.
The statement added that final touches were being made to seating arrangements, stage design, lighting, and audio-visual systems under the supervision of the Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal, who chairs the Venue Sub-Committee of the National Convention Organising Committee, NCOC.
