Olakanmi Ogundele, a developer in Lagos, has expressed concern after Olufemi Jogbodo, a recently employed Lagos driver, allegedly ran away with his Gelly Saloon car, license plate AGL586GW, four days after starting work again.
The suspect, who first identified himself as Adeleye, was assigned to Ogundele by his company’s manager on November 18 after his prior driver became ill, Ogundele told news correspondents on Sunday.

He said that the Lagos driver travelled with him to the Ijebu Ode region of Ogun State that same day and that they returned to Lagos on November 20.
Ogundele claims that the suspect also drove him to work the next day before taking off with the car while he was attending a meeting.
He said, “My driver was sick and I told my company to get me another driver because I was going to travel to Ijebu Ode. So, they got a driver on October 18, and we went to Ijebu Ode together and came back on October 20. Then, he took me to my office in Ikoyi. I was in a meeting in the office when he told the security that I sent him on an errand. The security could not come in to confirm with me because the meeting was still ongoing. That was how he went with the car and never came back.”
According to Ogundele, the tactical unit of the Ikoyi Police Division was notified of the incident right away, and they started pursuing the culprit.
But he bemoaned the fact that since the search for his location, nothing had changed.
In a document sent obtained by PUNCH on Sunday detailing the suspect’s information, he was discovered to be 44 years old and also a resident of Dele Ogunbowale Street in the Ikate area of the state.
The document further revealed that the Lagos driver runs 11 different bank accounts.
However, Ogundele pointed out that some of the suspect’s family members were also located and taken into custody.

He went on to say that the manager who found the Lagos driver was also detained and questioned adding that plans were underway to place a bounty on the suspect to aid his arrest and the recovery of the vehicle.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adebisi Abimbola, could not be reached as calls made to her phone were not responded to. A text message sent to her had yet to be replied to as of the time this report was filed.
