Details of the US delegation’s discussion with Nigerian government officials during a strategic visit to the country to evaluate security issues have been made public.
According to the previous reports, Nuhu Ribadu, the Nigerian National Security Advisor, hosted the congressional delegation upon their arrival in Nigeria on Sunday.
The conference came after both nations increased their diplomatic efforts to cooperate on security issues in response to growing concerns in Washington regarding purported Christian genocide.

Riley Moore, a member of the US delegation and a congressman from West Virginia’s Second District, said in a statement on Monday that the discussion with the Nigerian government was fruitful and constructive.
The statement claims that if the resolution is completely implemented, “it will enhance security across the country for all Nigerians” and that specific procedures and actions were extensively discussed during the meeting.
Moore acknowledged that the Nigerian government is open to cooperating with the US delegation to resolve the security issue.

He, however, said the “openness has to translate to concrete action”.
The US congress man appreciated president Bola Tinubu’s government “for rescuing the 100 innocent and precious Catholic school children”.
According to Moore, the release of the abductees “is a positive demonstration of the government’s increasing response to the security situation and shows commitment to the emergency declaration laid out by President Tinubu.

“The US’ sense of urgency on our concerns was positively received. I feel that a cooperative security framework is within sight. The now established joint task force between Nigeria and the US is a great example.
“There is much work still to be done, but things are moving in the right direction. I look forward to the next steps with the Nigerian government and the continued open dialogue.
“Peace be with you all. God bless the great people of Nigeria”.
