Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has expressed hope that President Bola Tinubu will get more support as a result of his administration’s continuous infrastructural development throughout the state.
On Tuesday, Fubara gave a speech at the 5.94-kilometer Ihuowo–Ihuama Road’s commissioning in the state’s Ahoada East Local Government Area.
He added that the road’s completion would greatly increase local security and safety, pointing out that it had previously been a death trap and a hub for crime and kidnapping.

The governor said, “This particular corridor of the road in Ahoada East leading to Ihuama was a trap. Kidnapping was at a very high rate along this corridor. Let me not mention the concern of Eze Okpata (Paramount Ruler), who said our women lost their lives or their babies while trying to access the major road before getting to the hospital.
“But I can say today that, with what we have done, it will no longer be business as usual for them (criminals).
“So you understand why I don’t need to talk much about this road. It is simple to say thank you because I have not done anything unusual. It is about listening to the needs of our people and saying that, as a government, we must attend to those needs.”
He stated that his government is still committed to providing services to enhance living circumstances in every corner of the state, characterising the intervention as a fundamental duty of any people-oriented administration.
Although every administration has a certain lifespan, according to Fubara, his administration will be recognised for its simplicity, receptivity to public concerns, and quick reaction to the people’s needs.

He also commended the contractor for the quality of work, saying, “The contractor has proven once again that with adequate release of funds, proper supervision and the cooperation of the host community, projects can be delivered.”
The governor also promised ongoing development interventions, assuring the local traditional ruler that requests for more roads and other infrastructure would be fulfilled.
