Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, was alleged in some reports to have stepped down in favour of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 flagbearer.

The reports further claimed that Atiku endorsed a one-term presidency for Obi to promote regional balance, an assertion he has firmly denied.

However, his media adviser, Paul Ibe, dismissed the report outright, describing it as fake news.

Reacting on Saturday, December 27, Ibe posted a screenshot of the claim on his verified X account and wrote: “Fake news: Not on the menu!”

This comes as reports indicate that Peter Obi now plans to formally join the ADC.
