Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed an explosion in the Bagudo General Hospital, Bagudo in the state.
According to reports, the incident, which occurred early hours of Tuesday, has triggered panic in the area.
In a statement, SP Bashir Usman, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, acknowledged the occurrence and said security personnel quickly secured the area to stop future threats.

“The Kebbi State Police Command wishes to assure members of the public that we have full control of the security situation following the explosion at the General Hospital, Bagudo,” Usman said in a statement.
He revealed that while Explosive Ordnance Disposal—Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear professionals were sent to evaluate the situation, a combined security squad made up of police, military, and vigilante troops promptly sealed off the area.

“We are grateful to confirm that there were no casualties. Although a building within the staff quarters was damaged, the occupants had already evacuated safely,” the police spokesman added.
He claims that in order to uphold public order and reassure locals, the state commissioner of police has ordered more tactical deployments to the region.

The Kebbi state explosion happens to be the most recent incident in what appears to be a series of explosions in recent times. If follows only few days after US airstrikes in sokoto an explosion in Kwara and another in Zamfara.
