EFCC Arraigns Abubakar Malami as Court Postpones Bail Hearing
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has postponed the hearing of Abubakar Malami’s bail application following his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The development comes as the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice continues to face alleged money laundering charges.
According to court proceedings, the bail application of Abubakar Malami was adjourned till Wednesday, January 7. The court decision means that the former minister will remain in custody as the legal process continues.

Abubakar Malami was earlier remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja after being charged by the EFCC over allegations bordering on money laundering. The case has continued to draw public attention as Nigerians closely follow the unfolding legal battle involving the former top government official.
Sources within the court disclosed that the EFCC insisted that Abubakar Malami must be kept in custody pending the determination of his bail application. This has further heightened public interest, especially as the case is seen as part of ongoing efforts to tackle corruption at high levels of government.

As the matter is adjourned to January 7, many Nigerians are watching to see how the court will rule on the bail application of Abubakar Malami and the next steps the anti-graft agency will take in prosecuting the case.
