Satellite TV giant, Multichoice Nigeria has officially announced the appointment of Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of John Ugbe.
The company, in a statement on Monday, revealed that Omotosho’s appointment will take effect from January 2026.
Its former CEO John Ugbe is stepping down after nearly 15 years in charge of the pay-TV company, during which he led the business through major industry and market changes.

Omotosho has over two decades of experience across media, telecommunications, and digital services in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
She has held key roles in the Multichoice Group in the past, such as Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for the Rest of Africa and Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria.
Her most recent position was Regional Director for Southern Africa, where she was in charge of all operations in seven different nations.

Omotosho described Nigeria as a strategic and exciting market and expressed her excitement about heading the company here.
“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the leadership of MultiChoice Nigeria at this important moment. Nigeria remains one of the Group’s most strategic and dynamic markets.

”I look forward to working with our teams and partners to deepen our relationship with consumers, champion local storytelling and the creative economy, as well as build a future-ready organisation that delivers sustainable value,” she said.
Multichoice also noted added that Ugbe’s retirement and Omotosho’s appointment followed a structured transition process aimed at ensuring continuity and stability.
