Controversial media personality, Rufai Oseni, has stated that the impeachment proceedings against Rivers state governor, Sim Fubara, is proof that all the governors defecting to APC are not protected.
Rufai made this revealtion on a social media post on Monday January 20. Rufai argued that if the impeachment proceedings against the Governor scales through, it shows that President Tinubu lacks the ability to protect governors in the APC.
Recall that members of the Rivers state House of Assembly who are loyal to, Nyesom Wike, have commenced impeachment proceedings against Rivers State Governor.
Previous reports reveal that the lawmakers maintain that the impeachment proceedings isn’t as a result of the political crisis between the Rivers state governor and his political godfather, Nyesom Wike, but based on the fact that the governor has committed some infractions including spending unbudgeted state funds.
Posting on Facebook, Oseni wrote: “If Fubara is impeached, then it’s a big indictment on President Tinubu’s ability to protect APC governors.
“Also, for those government officials that say the state of emergency was to save Fubara, that argument has been nullified by this impeachment notice.
“Despite the state of emergency, no peace and settlement, President Tinubu’s state of emergency didn’t save Fubara because an impeachment is still going ahead.
“One thing is certain currently: Wike is leading in this fight. Wike 100, President Tinubu 50.
“Will President Tinubu be able to save Fubara from Wike? Will President Tinubu side with Fubara?
“Will the Chief Judge go ahead with the process? Will the court order hold?
“Will Wike work against Tinubu and probably join the opposition? Time will tell.”
