The two artistes fell out in 2019 after Burna Boy threatened to confront AKA if they ever crossed paths. The feud followed claims that AKA encouraged xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa after sharing screenshots of alleged hate messages from Nigerian social media users during banter over an AFCON quarterfinal match.
Burna Boy has now revealed that the long-running dispute was settled before the South African rapper passed away.
In a posthumous birthday message to the late rapper via his Instagram page, Burna Boy, however, regretted that AKA passed away before they could execute some of their plans and collaborations.

Burna Boy wrote, “Happy birthday Supa Mega. We fell out over bullsh*t even though we squashed it over Twitter DMs nobody knew about, we never got the chance to really link up and do what we were supposed to do. I will regret that until I see you again. Until then, R.I.P Mega.”
Recalls that AKA was shot dead by a gunman outside a restaurant in Durban on 10 February, 2023.
The trial into his murder is still ongoing.
