The INEC 2027 election timetable is now officially out as the Independent National Electoral Commission announces the full schedule for Nigeria’s next general election. The announcement was made on Friday during a press briefing in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, dismissed earlier reports claiming that the timetable had already been released. He explained that the INEC 2027 election timetable follows the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act 2022, as amended.
According to the commission, Nigerians will head to the polls for the presidential election on February 20, 2027. The governorship, senatorial, and other legislative elections are scheduled to take place on March 6, 2027, completing the key phases of the INEC 2027 election timetable.

Amupitan says the early release of the INEC 2027 election timetable is aimed at giving political parties, candidates, and voters enough time to prepare. He adds that the commission remains committed to conducting free, fair, and credible elections across the country.
The INEC 2027 election timetable is expected to shape political activities nationwide, as parties begin consultations and strategic planning ahead of the polls. Many Nigerians are already expressing interest in the process, hoping the coming elections will strengthen democracy and deepen public trust in the electoral system.
