The federal government will officially launch the Digital Trade platform for air and sea cargo in March 2026.
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said in a post on X on Tuesday that the national single window (NSW) team and the directorate of cargo development and services recently contacted important stakeholders and disclosed the anticipated deployment date.
“The Directorate of Cargo Development and Services of FAAN, in collaboration with the @NSW_Nigeria team, recently engaged with key stakeholders and announced that the Digital Trade Platform is scheduled for launch in March 2026,” the post reads.

“During the engagement, all cargo airline operators were directed by the Honourable Minister of Finance to submit their air cargo manifests through the National Single Window (NSW) platform in preparation for the official launch.”
According to the authority, training sessions will be held prior to the digital trade rollout to guarantee seamless system acceptance and efficient use.
FAAN’s director of public affairs, Henry Agbebire, told TheCable on Wednesday that the digital platform is not just for cargo operations, but also for seaports and air planes.

President Bola Tinubu launched the national single window initiative to increase trade in Nigeria on April 16, 2024.
The national single window is an electronic portal linking all agencies and players in import and export processes to an integrated platform.
According to Tinubu, the project is expected to bring in roughly $2.7 billion for the nation per year.

The platform would address red tape, bureaucratic bottlenecks, delays, and corruption at the ports, as well as reduce revenue leaks and improve trade efficiency, the president said.
The Nigerian Ports Authority’s (NPA) managing director (MD), Abubakar Dantsoho, stated on February 3 that the national single window will launch by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
