Jigawa Ramadan Working Hours Adjusted As Governor Umar Namadi Approves New Schedule For Civil Servants
The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has officially approved a downward review of official working hours for civil servants in Jigawa State during the 2026 Ramadan fasting period.
This development was disclosed in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and made available to journalists through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service.

The announcement explained that the change in working hours during Ramadan is aimed at easing the burden on workers during the holy month.
According to the statement, civil servants will now close at 3 pm from Monday to Thursday instead of the usual 5 pm, while work will commence at 9 am on those days. On Fridays, official hours will run from 9 am to 1 pm, in line with the existing arrangement under the Jigawa Ramadan working hours directive.

Alhaji Dagaceri said the adjustment was designed to reduce strain on workers during fasting and give them enough time to prepare for iftar and participate fully in Ramadan’s spiritual obligations.
He also expressed hope that civil servants would use the period to offer prayers for divine guidance and the continued progress of the state.

The statement further urged workers to pray for peace, stability, and economic prosperity in Jigawa State and the country at large, as residents begin to adjust to the new working hours during Ramadan across government offices.
