Rivers State Halts Impeachment Proceedings against Governor Fubara
In a surprising turn of events, the Rivers State House of Assembly adopted a motion to stop the impeachment proceedings against Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu.
According to reports, the House met on Thursday to resume its sitting in Port Harcourt and adopted the motion to halt the impeachment process.
Several reports are stating this could be due to the intervention of Tinubu, as the president recently met with the governor, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and leaders of the assembly.
The latest development suggests the lingering political crisis in Rivers State may have ended.
