A fire outbreak has gutted part of the old terminal at the Lagos International Airport on Monday, causing panic among airport workers and passengers in the area.
As of the time this report was filed, the reason of the fire outbreak was unknown, although indications indicate that it began at 3:30 pm on Monday.
In a video now circulating, thick billows of smoke could be seen filling the air from the part of the airport engulfed in flames.

Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly within minutes before being brought under control. Several workers at the renovation site were evacuated as a safety measure.
The incident was confirmed by Henry Agbebire, the head of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
However, FAAN firefighters are already responding and attempting to confine the fire, according to Agbebire.
He added: “No loss of life has been recorded. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
Additionally, the statement was unable to determine the cause of the fire.
The development occurs almost two years after the Lagos International airport’s international wing was the scene of a fire.
