The United States Embassy in Nigeria has issued a strong warning to its citizens in the country, warning of a possible terrorist attack by Iran on US facilities and American affiliated schools in Nigeria, particularly the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The United States also recently issued a security advisory on its official website, advising Nigerian people to take extra safety measures.

The alert advised Americans living in Nigeria to pay closer attention to security, particularly when visiting US diplomatic posts and any US-affiliated educational institutions.
The notice reads, the “US Embassy in Abuja informs US citizens of a possible terrorist threat against US facilities and US-affiliated schools in Nigeria.

“The Embassy recommends that US citizens take additional precautions when travelling to the US Embassy, the US Consulate General in Lagos, and US-affiliated schools, to include varying times and routes”.
This comes amid the US-Iran war crisis as the Islamic republic had previously launched missiles on countries affiliated with the US in retaliatory moves.

Although the Iranian president had tendered an apology to neighboring countries in the region, promising that there would be no more strikes except provoked, the nation still launched strikes on UAE and Kuwait and others under the leadership of its new supreme leader.
