Fresh news has emerged after United States President Donald Trump said he believes Iran’s newly appointed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, may still be alive despite the ongoing war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Trump made the remark during an interview on The Brian Kilmeade Show on Fox News, where he spoke about the situation surrounding the Iranian leadership. According to him, recent news suggests that the leader may have survived the conflict but could have been seriously injured.

“I think he probably is alive. I think he is damaged, but I think he’s probably alive in some form, you know,” Trump said during the interview.

The latest news about Mojtaba Khamenei comes after he emerged as Iran’s new supreme leader following reports that his father, Ali Khamenei, was killed on the first day of the war between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other.

Reports indicate that Mojtaba Khamenei was selected by a clerical assembly on Sunday to lead the country after the sudden leadership vacuum. However, despite the global attention surrounding the development, the new leader has not appeared publicly before the Iranian people.

Instead, his first remarks were delivered through a television presenter on Thursday, a move that has continued to generate debate among observers who think he may be dead or badly injured from the ongoing war.

In the statement delivered on his behalf, Khamenei warned that Iran would maintain control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. He also warned neighboring countries hosting American military bases that they could become targets if those facilities were used to launch attacks against Iran.

The ongoing conflict that triggered this response reportedly began on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on several Iranian targets.

Following the attacks, Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes targeting Israel as well as several Gulf states believed to be hosting United States military installations. Reports indicate that the clashes have resulted in casualties among US forces, with several others injured.

As the war approaches its second week, the humanitarian and economic impact continues to grow. Thousands of people are feared to have been killed while global financial markets remain unsettled as investors monitor developments tied to the latest news about Mojtaba Khamenei.

Middle East war enters next phase as strikes hit Iran and Lebanon

Despite the rising casualties and growing global concern, the leaders of Iran, Israel, and the United States have all insisted they will not retreat from the conflict. The continuing war has heightened fears of a wider regional crisis.

Observers say the uncertainty surrounding the health and public appearance of Iran’s new leader has added another layer of tension to the already volatile situation, making the unfolding situation one of the most closely watched developments in global politics.
