The Federal Government has introduced a new consumer credit product, “Fly Now, Pay Later,” aimed at making flight tickets and domestic air travel more accessible to Nigerians.

In an announcement published on its X account on Tuesday, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation said that the program will enable qualified clients to purchase local flights and pay back the expense over time through structured financing.

According to CREDICORP, the program is intended to eliminate the initial financial obstacle that frequently causes many Nigerians to postpone significant travel.

“Through this initiative, eligible customers can book domestic flights today and repay the cost over time through structured financing, removing the upfront barrier that often delays important trips,” the statement read.

According to CREDICORP, the solution is being provided in collaboration with Alert Microfinance Bank and MyVisaro as part of initiatives to increase access to responsible consumer financing.

The company advised interested parties to go to visaro.ng and reserve a flight to any Nigerian city in order to apply.

The company stated that the program is in line with its overarching goal of advancing financial inclusion and enhancing access to necessary services by means of creative lending solutions.

The debut coincides with mounting concerns over Nigeria’s escalating domestic air travel costs, which many citizens find difficult to afford despite the country’s growing demand for intra-country connectivity.

During the 2025 Yuletide period, one-way fares on some domestic routes rose by about 150 per cent, exceeding N300,000.

Airlines have attributed the high ticket prices to the rising cost of aviation fuel, foreign exchange constraints, and other operational expenses.
