Speaking on a recent episode of the Nando Leaks podcast, the Afrobeats star shared that he has a “weird” personality and does not rely on external validation, which makes him comfortable maintaining a small circle.

Omah Lay added that the only people he considers friends are those who truly understand him.

He noted that he is reserved but has a large ego.

“I have a very weird personality, I believe I am just that guy, so I don’t have a lot of friends. I don’t talk to a lot of people, just very few people and those people are people who try to come into my world and understand where I am going.

“The Nigerian music scene is full of egos. I am a chill guy but I have too much ego. It is hard to make friends like that,” Omah Lay said.

The singer added that he tries to be humble sometimes because he believes large ego can hinder progress.
