Former Migos rapper, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, popularly known as Offset has reportedly been shot during an incident at a Florida casino on Monday night.
The rapper was said to have been shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
According to the police, “the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in a valet area of the casino.”
The issue was swiftly contained because officers were already in the area and responded right away.
The Seminole Police Department announced in a statement that two people have been taken into custody in relation to the event and that investigations are still underway.
The public was also reassured by authorities that everything is under control.
“Seminole Police were on site immediately and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal,” the police statement said.
Following the incident, the rapper was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A footage NaijaEyes obtained shows what looks to be the aftermath of the shooting, with a person on the ground. It is unclear whether the person is Offset.
Offset is a member of the Atlanta rap trio Migos, which included Quavo and Takeoff. The group split after Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston in 2022
He was previously married to Cardi B between 2017 and 2022.
