A faction of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Adamawa State has suspended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Raji Sulaiman Zumo, the state’s ADC faction chairman, declared the suspension on Monday.

The party also suspended the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal alongside Atiku Abubakar.
The most recent action exacerbates the party’s escalating internal crisis, in which opposing blocs are vying for leadership roles.

Meanwhile, a separate faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe is also laying claim to the office of national chairman.

According to reports, the disagreement had an impact on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to stop recognising the ADC leadership, which was led by former Senate President David Mark.
