Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a past presidential candidate, has officially joined the ADC presidential race for the 2027 general elections.
He promises to bring the nation together, address insecurity, and enact extensive economic changes meant to revive Nigeria’s faltering economy.
Hayatu-Deen said during a Tuesday night appearance on Arise Television that the current condition of affairs necessitates leadership that not only acknowledges the everyday struggles Nigerians confront but also has the ability and experience to handle them.

Hayatu-Deen also highlighted the escalating cost of living, stressing that “food prices keep going up, petrol prices keep rising, and for many Nigerians, just getting through the day has become a struggle.”
He also voiced concerns about the worsening security situation, pointing out that despite the Naira’s ongoing depreciation against other African currencies, the country currently spends more on ransom payments than on properly funding its security institutions.
“This is not the Nigeria we deserve. It is time to change course, and that is why I am stepping forward to seek the ADC presidential ticket,” he declared.

Additionally, he criticised what he perceives as a disconnect between the government and common Nigerians. Adding that despite the pressure on households and companies, people in positions of power have not taken necessary prompt action.
He said, “For too long, this government has looked away while Nigerians bear the burden of bad policies and rising insecurity. We cannot continue like this”.

He pledged to provide a practical and trustworthy substitute that focused on increased security, economic stability, and restored faith in public institutions.
This comes as supporters of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso have formed a new political pressure group, the Obi–Kwankwaso Movement.
