The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed that the party remains united, stable, and firmly under competent leadership.

This was disclosed in a communiqué issued on Tuesday by the ADC party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, following a State Executive Committee meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

According to the statement, the meeting was convened to evaluate the current state of the party, strengthen internal unity, and fine-tune strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee noted that the meeting came amid ongoing political realignments across the country, stressing that the opportunity was used to reaffirm the ADC’s stability, focus, and dedication to disciplined, issue-driven politics.

The statement dismissed rumours suggesting internal division within the ADC party, insisting that such claims do not reflect the true situation on ground.

“To maintain this progress, the Committee has resolved to intensify grassroots mobilization across all 27 local government areas of the state,” the statement read.

It added that the move is aimed at strengthening the party’s membership base, encouraging civic participation, and positioning the ADC strongly for both the primaries and the 2027 general elections.

The committee also expressed strong confidence in the leadership of former Imo State Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, and former Deputy Governor, Hon. Engr. Gerald Irona, describing their experience and commitment as key factors in keeping the party united and focused.

In addition, the Imo ADC pledged loyalty to the party’s national leadership under Senator David Mark, stating that the state chapter aligns fully with the vision of the National Working Committee and is committed to working towards victory in 2027.

The statement further emphasized the ADC party’s commitment to promoting justice, competence, unity, and inclusive development in Nigeria.

It concluded by urging party members to remain committed, avoid distractions, and continue working towards building a stronger political platform capable of restoring confidence in governance and delivering meaningful development to Nigerians.
