FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the presidential bid of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde,  describing it as ‘dead on arrival’.

Wike made this declaration on Thursday during a brief media chat with reporters on a road project inspection in Abuja. When asked about his thoughts on Makinde’s prospects, he didn’t hold back.

Wike’s comment comes just hours following Makinde’s declaration of his presidential ambition in Ibadan at a joint mega-rally of the PDP and APM.

Makinde claimed that most Nigerians are now in survival mode every day as a result of this. He also said that public servants in charge of the wellbeing of the populace had neglected their jobs.

Responding to Makinde’s statement, Wike denied that the PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement(APM) have any political partnership.

He further described the deal as “fraud.” Adding that INEC has no documentation of any such partnership. He also stated that the PDP is still independent in its electoral preparations.

Wike said, Wike said, ‘That’s the 419 we are talking about. INEC also knows that there is no such thing as a PDP-APM alliance.’ He won’t back down on this issue. The screening of aspirants by the Abdulrahman Mohammed PDP faction clearly indicates that the party is independent. It’s not in any alliance.
