Warri monarch criticises Remi Tinubu over alleged interference in Itsekiri affairs

The Alema of Warri Kingdom, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, has criticised the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, over her alleged involvement in Itsekiri-related affairs, saying she should not interfere in such matters.

Speaking at an event in Warri, the monarch said the First Lady Remi Tinubu has no constitutional role in the presidency.

He faulted her involvement in issues concerning Warri and Delta State, arguing that her attention should instead be directed toward broader national challenges affecting citizens.

The traditional ruler also referenced rising insecurity in parts of the country, including cases of kidnapping, while questioning what he described as the First Lady’s response to affected families.

He said, “Remi Tinubu has no place in the Office of the President. Her responsibility should be limited to her family. She should take care of her responsibility by taking care of her husband and children. She is sitting in Abuja instead of being in the kitchen taking care of her husband.

“Children are being kidnapped in Osun State and the northern part of Nigeria. As a mother, she has no feelings. Is that the woman who calls herself a mother?”

He also expressed displeasure over what he described as interference in Warri affairs, adding, “We’re not mincing words at this point; we’re tired of the nonsense from the Itsekiris.”
