Former chairmanship candidate of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Moses Paul, has described the ongoing crisis within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as an attempt by opponents to destabilise the party.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday, Moses Paul alleged that there is a deliberate plan to create divisions among key party figures, including former Bayelsa State governor Seriake Dickson, the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, and Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
Moses Paul also stated that Peter Obi did not nominate or influence any candidate, insisting that certain individuals are deliberately working to cause internal conflict and instability within the party.
“The agenda is to bring NDC to its knees. To the best of my knowledge, Peter Obi did not nominate or influence any of the candidates,” he said.
He further claimed that efforts were being made to sow discord within the party leadership, particularly among what he described as the trio of Peter Obi, Senator Kwankwaso, and Senator Seriake Dickson.
“What is happening, especially with the NDC, Peter Obi and Kwankwaso coming together, is that some people are doing everything possible to create chaos and anarchy within the party,” he added.
According to him, the situation is aimed at weakening the party from within and disrupting its unity ahead of future political engagements.
