Osun Accord to support Tinubu in 2027 — Gov Ademola Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that the Accord Party in the state will support President Bola Tinubu in 2027, describing him as a son of Osun State.

Adelemola Adeleke made this known on Tuesday during the official launch of his re-election campaign and a ceremony welcoming over 10,000 defectors from the APC, ADC, and other political parties, held at Freedom Park, Osogbo.

The event also featured endorsements from more than 200 groups, unions, and associations.

Among those who defected to the Accord Party were three former commissioners, a special adviser, and several other political figures in the state.

Notable defectors included former commissioners for Youth and Sports, Yemi Lawal; Political Affairs, Taiwo Akeju; and Education, Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisayemi, as well as former Special Adviser, Jamiu Olawumi, alongside other political aides and former members of the State House of Assembly.

While welcoming the new members, Governor Adeleke expressed confidence in the party’s strength, stating that Accord is open to all and assuring supporters of victory in the August 15 governorship election.

He also highlighted achievements of his administration, citing economic improvements as reflected by the Debt Management Office, and said his campaign would be based on a five-point agenda.

Adeleke emphasized that his administration rejects violence, urging supporters to campaign peacefully.

According to him, “Osun must not go back to the dark age. Osun is the cradle of the Yoruba nation and by God’s grace, peace must prevail.

“We reject violence. Go out and campaign for the party. Accord will be on the ballot. Be rest assured that we will vote and our votes will count on August 15.”
