Ekiti guber: Oyebanji visits ADC candidate, seeks bipartisan cooperation

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday evening paid a courtesy visit to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in the recently concluded election, Ambassador Dare Bejide, at his residence in Ado-Ekiti.

The visit forms part of the governor’s commitment to engaging all candidates who participated in the governorship election and seeking their support and contributions toward the development of the state.

Governor Oyebanji was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe, and was warmly received by Ambassador Bejide.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed issues relating to the progress and development of Ekiti State.

Following the official declaration of the June 20 governorship election results, Governor Oyebanji had reached out by telephone to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, and the ADC candidate, Ambassador Bejide, assuring them that he would also pay them personal visits.

The governor had earlier visited Dr. Oluyede at his residence alongside some political leaders before Monday’s meeting with Bejide.

According to the state government, the governor’s inclusive approach to governance is aimed at fostering unity, peace, mutual respect and understanding among political stakeholders and residents, with the ultimate goal of driving sustainable growth and development across the state.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji secured re-election in the June 20 Ekiti State governorship election, defeating candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties. Following the declaration of the results, the governor pledged to run an inclusive administration and promised to engage his opponents in a bid to foster unity and ensure all stakeholders contribute to the state’s development.
