The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has travelled from Abuja to Osun State to attend the party’s final campaign rally ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Atiku departed the nation’s capital alongside the National Leader of the ADC, David Mark, as the party intensifies its campaign efforts ahead of the poll.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with candidates including Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Najeem Salam of the ADC among the major contenders.
The ADC candidate, Najeem Salam, previously served as Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015. He returned to the position in 2017 and remained Speaker until 2019.
Atiku’s visit to Osun comes as the ADC seeks to strengthen its campaign and mobilise support for its candidate ahead of Saturday’s election.
