The Nigeria Police Force High Command has issued nationwide red alert following reports of planned terrorist attacks on places of worship, schools, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps and other public locations across the country.
According to Premium Times, police intelligence indicated the movement of armed groups traveling from Katsina through Kaduna toward Plateau State.
This development follows new intelligence reports revealing heightened mobilization by terrorist elements planning potential coordinated attacks on places of worship, educational institutions, NYSC orientation camps, and other vulnerable targets nationwide.
Additionally, the findings also revealed that following the intelligence report, the high command has issued an operational order to its formations nationwide on the need to put the criminal elements in check before they will strike.
Premium Times also noted that the order was contained in a police wireless message dated September 13, 2026, obtained by The Nigerian Tribune, with reference CB: 0900/FDPS/DOPS/FHQ/ABJ/VOL38/68, issued from the Nigeria Police Force Department of Operations (NIGPOL DOPS), Abuja.
The message marked “Security General” and tagged “Treat as Very Important,” was circulated to Assistant Inspectors-General of Police overseeing Zones 1–17, Mobile Police units, counter-terrorism and other specialised formations, as well as Commissioners of Police in all the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja.
The document noted that the Department of Operations possesses intelligence indicating increased mobilization by terrorist groups planning potential coordinated attacks on educational institutions, places of worship, NYSC orientation camps, and other high-risk targets.

Meanwhile this comes less than twenty four hours after the Department of State Services (DSS) alerted Muslim and Christian leaders in Osun State to an alleged terrorist attacks targeting places of worship and other public gathering venues ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The report said the DSS held separate meetings with the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Muslim community in Osogbo on Wednesday. The agency advised religious leaders to take precautions against possible attacks.
Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, President of the Osun State Muslim Community, confirmed the meeting with the DSS and said the security information was credible. He added that the religious organisations had received advice on precautionary measures.Consult Security Experts
