Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has opened a fresh registration window for HND graduates who have been unable to join the National Youth Service Corps because their earlier National Diploma was obtained through the Part-Time programme.
The development could provide a long-awaited opportunity for graduates who completed their HND programmes but were unable to move forward with the NYSC process. According to a report by EduTimes Africa published on September 26, 2026, the Polytechnic said the exercise follows a directive from the NYSC concerning graduates in this category.
According to the report, eligible graduates are expected to visit the Directorate of Student Affairs from Monday, September 28, to Monday, October 5, 2026, with their genuine particulars. The notice was signed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Tope Abiola.
The issue is centred on the route through which the graduates obtained their ND qualification. The affected candidates have completed HND at OSPOLY but were previously not mobilised because of their ND Part-Time status.

OSPOLY Lists Documents Graduates Must Provide
The Polytechnic has asked affected graduates to submit key academic and personal details as part of the registration process. These include full name, HND matriculation number, department, year of graduation and grade of result.
Candidates are also required to bring a photocopy of their Statement of Result or certificate. Information about age must be supported with a certificate of birth or declaration of age.
The school further requested residential address, home address and next-of-kin details. Graduates should therefore ensure that the information they provide is accurate and consistent with their academic records.
These requirements were contained in the notice published by EduTimes Africa, which listed the particulars candidates are expected to present during the exercise.
OSPOLY also operates distance learning and part-time programmes for learners seeking flexible study options, according to information on its official part-time programme page.
NYSC Rules Help Explain the Special Registration
The latest announcement should be understood alongside NYSC’s existing rules for graduates of part-time programmes. On its official registration page, the NYSC states that part-time graduates are expected to register online and print their exclusion letters.
The Corps Certification Department similarly states that Letters of Exclusion are issued to eligible part-time graduates and that such graduates are expected to register online before printing the document.
The OSPOLY notice is therefore more specific than the general rule. It concerns HND graduates whose earlier ND qualification was completed through Part-Time study and who, according to the Polytechnic, had previously not been mobilised for that reason.
That distinction is important. The announcement should not be interpreted as a blanket call-up of all graduates who studied part-time. NYSC’s published guidance continues to provide for exclusion letters for eligible part-time graduates.
NYSC also says locally trained graduates must have their names on Senate- or Academic Board-approved result lists submitted by their institutions before they can access registration. The scheme warns candidates against fake documents and registration by proxy.
