Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has confirmed the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
In a statement posted to Instagram on Friday, the actress shared the news, stating that her father had passed away.
Expressing grief over the loss, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha noted that having lost her mother 13 years ago, she is now without both parents, describing her father’s passing as deeply heartbreaking.
She wrote, “My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,”
“I lost my mother 13 years ago and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. So na only me bayi?”
Describing her late father as “my daddy, papa’m, obara’m, my comfort,” the actress expressed gratitude for his long life and for the opportunity he had to see his children and grandchildren.
“I am so thankful you lived a long life, and I am grateful to God you saw your children and grandchildren. We had hoped you would meet your great-grandchildren too, mana nya diba!” she said.
“No matter how many years we are given with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace, one more day,” she added.
She expressed her gratitude for the time she spent with her father, especially in the final stages of his life.
The actress claimed that until making the announcement of his passing, she had kept the information a secret while grieving.
“I have held this news close while trying to understand my own grief,” she said.

On Friday, October 2, 2026, while colleagues, friends and admirers gathered in Lagos for the funeral service of veteran actor Olu Jacobs, Chioma publicly announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka. Jacobs’ funeral was the culmination of days of tributes following his death on September 16 at the age of 84.
