Following the crash of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR 42 aircraft (tail number NAF 931) in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, extended his deepest condolences to the families of the crew and passengers who died in the accident.
In an official statement released Tuesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Chief conveyed sincere sympathies to the victims’ families, colleagues, and loved ones. He described the fatal crash as a profound tragedy for both the Nigerian Air Force and the nation.
Air Marshal Aneke assured the grieving families of the Service’s unwavering support throughout this difficult period.
According to reports, aircraft NAF 931 had 25 people on board—comprising 20 passengers and five crew members—when the tragedy occurred during a routine operation from Benin to Lagos.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) earlier confirmed that one of its aircraft crashed early Monday morning in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.
According to a statement released to TheCable by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the aircraft was conducting a routine operational mission when the crash occurred.
Ejodame noted that a search and rescue operation was immediately launched following the incident.
