A presidential delegation has been deployed to Esiele and Yawota villages in Orire and Ogbomoso Local Government Areas of Oyo State following the abduction of 46 pupils and teachers from schools in the area.
The delegation is led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Inspector General of Police, Tunde Disu.
Other members include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; and the Special Adviser on Public Communications, Sunday Dare.
Sunday Dare confirmed the development in a post on X on Sunday, stating that the team had arrived in Ogbomoso Oyo State en route to the affected communities.
He explained that armed men had simultaneously attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary schools in the area, abducting about 46 pupils and teachers.
Dare added that President Bola Tinubu has already initiated coordinated security efforts aimed at rescuing the victims and apprehending the kidnappers.
