Veteran Nigerian actor, Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, has reportedly passed away.
On Wednesday, Nollywood producer and actor Kunle Afod made the announcement on his verified Instagram page.

Afod said in a heartfelt tweet that the seasoned actor passed away on Tuesday following a brief illness.
The filmmaker described the late actor as a “great legend” who succumbed to an undisclosed ailment after a short battle.

He wrote, “It saddens my heart as I announce the passing away of our great legend, a great actor who passed away this evening after a brief illness… BABA GEBU, may your soul rest in peace.”

Prior to his passing, Baba Gebu had a lengthy and illustrious career in the Nigerian film business, especially in Yoruba-language cinema, where he coached a number of up-and-coming actors and starred in many highly regarded projects.

The late actor discussed his wife’s death in public in 2024, saying that going back to performing helped him deal with his loss and prevent melancholy.
