The Adamawa state Government Civil Service Commission, which is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process, urged the public to disregard the fraudulent document.

The purported notice, which has been shared on social media and other platforms and allegedly signed by the Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Maiha, falsely claimed that the 2025 Civil Service Recruitment Exercise had concluded, including all stages from application and screening to the CBT exam, interview, and final selection.

In its rebuttal obtained on Sunday, the commission stated that the document is fake and its contents entirely false.

According to the Adamawa State Government Civil Service Commission, at no time did it issue such a press statement, noting that the signature of the permanent secretary on the said notice was criminally forged.

“The general public, particularly applicants who participated in the ongoing recruitment exercise, are therefore advised to disregard the fake publication in its entirety,” it stated.

Providing an update on the civil service recruitment process, which began several months ago to fill 4,000 vacant positions, the statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary Abubakar Maiha, said the commission is currently finalising the necessary procedures and that an official update will be announced in due course through verified government communication channels.

“The Commission also warns that any individual or group found to be involved in the production or circulation of forged official documents will be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law,” the statement added.
