The Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON), Kebbi State Chapter, has condemned the alleged killing of one of its members, Tukur Alhaji Salihu, reportedly by operatives of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) of the Nigeria Customs Service, Zone B, Kaduna, deployed to Kebbi State.

According to reports, Salihu was shot on February 7, 2026, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon along the Nagari College–Illela Yari axis in Birnin Kebbi.
In a statement signed by the association’s secretary, Shehu Yusuf Bunza, AMDON described the incident as disturbing, linking it to wider concerns over alleged extrajudicial killings and human rights violations. The group noted that the shooting, which occurred in broad daylight, has instilled fear among its members and residents of the area.

AMDON stated that Salihu was a passenger at the time of the incident and was allegedly shot several times. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later died that night. He was subsequently buried in his hometown of Argungu.
The deceased is survived by two wives, seven children, and his parents.
The association called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. It also urged the Nigeria Customs Service to carry out an internal probe and take steps to prevent a recurrence.
Additionally, AMDON appealed to the Kebbi State Government to intervene in the matter and provide support to the bereaved family. The group disclosed that it has reported the incident to appropriate authorities and appealed to the public to remain calm and law-abiding, while urging human rights organisations to monitor the case and ensure accountability.
