Two close friends and team members of world-renowned boxer, Anthony Joshua, have been identified as the victims of the fatal road crash that occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday.
In a statement, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Matchroom Boxing, revealed that Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who had worked closely with the boxer for a number of years, were the deceased.
Joshua was sent to the hospital for examinations and treatment after being hurt in the collision, according to the firm, which also stated that he was in a stable condition and would continue to be monitored.

The BBC also verified that the two men who died in the crash were Joshua’s teammates, adding that both were part of his inner circle.
Recall that the boxer shared an Instagram story of himself playing table tennis with Latif Ayodele, also known as Latz, just hours before the accident.
Who were they?
Sina Ghami
Sina Ghami was said to have been Anthony Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach for more than a decade.
According to the BBC, Ghami was a licensed sports and exercise rehabilitator with a focus on corrective exercise and musculoskeletal ailments, who also also co-founded Evolve Gym in London.
Ghami had worked with athletes from a variety of sports, including the Michigan State University football team, the National Football League, and the National Basketball Association.
Ghami, until his tragic demise was also a specialist in injury prevention and sports rehabilitation, and had shared pictures with Joshua on social media from Lagos just prior to the collision.
Latif “Latz” Ayodele
Latif Ayodele, widely known as Latz, who also lost his life in the crash, was Anthony Joshua’s personal trainer.
His social media accounts demonstrated a strong devotion to Islam and a profound love of exercise.

Ayodele was spotted with Joshua just before the collision and frequently shared pictures of the two of them on his Instagram page.
Meanwhile, a number of official reactions to the crash has been recorded. The Ogun state government, Police Command among others have expressed their condolence over the deceased amid a flood of social media tributes and condolence messages.
