Armed Bandits abduct five passengers, kill the driver in Zamfara.
Armed bandits have launched an attack along Bagega-Anka Road in Zamfara State, killing a commercial driver and abducting five passengers.
The incident, which took place on Saturday, was revealed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday via his official X handle.
According to Makama, the attack happened around 11:40 a.m. when the bandits blocked the busy road, opened fire on a Golf vehicle, killing the driver instantly, and kidnapped the five passengers traveling in the vehicle.
Following the distress call, joint security forces were quickly deployed to the scene. The driver, who was initially injured, was rushed to Bagega Primary Healthcare Centre but was later confirmed dead.
According to the post, security agencies have since intensified efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of this report.
